Anxiety & Trauma

Your Anxiety Wakes Up Before You Do

You wake after another restless night, anxious before the day has even begun. Your body is exhausted. Your mind is already racing.

You move through the day worn thin, unsure why ordinary moments suddenly feel overwhelming.

A sudden noise makes you jump. A crowded store feels unbearable.

Even a walk in the park on a bright spring day leaves you tense and unsettled, waiting for something bad to happen.

You tell yourself it’s just work stress, family responsibilities, the busyness of life. But deep down, you know something more is going on.

You Are Not Overreacting

Anxiety and trauma show up in ways that confuse and frustrate you.

Your body reacts before your mind understands what’s happening. Your heart pounds. Your muscles clench. Your breath goes shallow.

Something in you wants to bolt from a room that isn’t dangerous to anyone else.

These reactions aren’t signs that you’re weak or damaged.

They’re your nervous system’s attempt to protect you, carrying more than it can manage on its own.

When the Alarm Won’t Stop

Once, these responses kept you safe from real danger.

They turn limiting only when your body keeps sounding the alarm long after the threat is gone. So you push through.

You tell yourself you should handle it, that other people have it worse. But pushing through only wears you down. It deepens the distress you’re already in.

Over time, you avoid certain places. You pull away from people you love. You lose the thread of who you are.

Therapy helps you understand what your symptoms are trying to say, instead of judging yourself for having them.

Feel Safe in Your Body Again

Picture the two of us walking into a dark cave together.

I’m the one holding the flashlight.

My job is to light the way so you can walk through it. Not to tell you where to step. You choose where to go.

Together, we’ll explore what’s been feeding your anxiety and fear.

We’ll look at what sits underneath it, whether that’s current stress, an old experience, grief, a major life change, or a pattern built up over the years.

I won’t push you to talk about anything before you’re ready. We move at your pace, always.

More Than 20 Years in This Work

Trauma is where I’ve spent most of my career, more than 20 years, much of it at the VA.

When your work calls for it, I draw on EMDR, a proven approach for helping the nervous system finally process what it never got to finish.

I’ll never force the hard memories to the surface.

The work is simple: helping you feel safe enough that they loosen their grip on you.

Move Through Your Life with More Confidence and Ease

Healing from anxiety and trauma is possible.

With support, you’ll learn to recognize your triggers before they take hold. You’ll calm your nervous system when it starts to spin. The fearful thoughts stop running the show. You learn to question them instead of believing every one.

Day by day, you build practical tools that carry you through life with more confidence and ease.
